BRAZILIAN SAVANNA AT THE EMAS NATIONAL PARK

Day 1.

Fly to Cuiabá and Drive to Emas National Park.

Arrival at Campo Grande airport in the morning. Your guide will meet you here and drive you to Costa Rica, the gateway town to Emas National Park . You will stop along the drive for lunch in a local restaurant. Our drive will take up to 4 hours, before we arrive at our Pousada. Check-in and walk in the surroundings of the Pousada. Overnight at Pousada do Gloria. (L,D)

Day 2,3,4,5 & 6.

Pousada do Gloria. 

Our activities during the entire tour will be overland Safaris in different areas of the Park and safari walks in a variety of habitats and targeting different species. Our days will have an early start in order to maximize our chances to photograph Maned Wolves, Giant Armadillos, Giant Anteater, Pumas and other crepuscular mammals. We will have a midday break after lunch (at the lodge). When exploring remote areas of the Park, we will take lunch or a snack to eat in the field. We will also devote some time to birdwatching and photographing some of the Cerrado's specials as the Cock-tailed tyrant, Collared Crescentchest, Yellow-billed Blue Finc and more.

We will explore the water springs of this Park, surrounded by Mauritia Palm-treeswhich are rich in fauna as this forests provide the animals with water and shade. We will cover a wide range of habitats, from riparian forest, grasslands, palm forests and wooden savanna in search for wildlife and photo opportunities. On some nights we we will go out on a night safari in search of mammals and other nocturnal wildlife which may yield good views of Great Horned Owl, Little & Spottailed Nightjars, Band-tailed Nighthawk and many other possibilities. Day 7.

Transfer Emas NP to Campo Grande airport.

After an early breakfast we go out for a photograph session until 9am. Afterwards we check-out and transfer back to Campo Grande in time for your connection flight to São Paulo.
