In this vast land two major rivers cross a mosaic of wetlands, savannas and tropical forests: the Cuiabá and Paraguay rivers. Our Jaguar Safaris take you to the renowned Meeting of the Waters State Park, in Porto Jofre, and also to the remote Taiamã Reserve, located along the Paraguay River. These vast protected areas have the world’s highest density of Jaguars due to lack of hunting, and a very high density of two of their favorite prey: caymans and capybaras.
 

The gateway towns to get access to these rivers are Poconé and Cáceres. Both regions are accessible by vehicle from Cuiabá. Pantanal Jaguar Safaris has chosen a variety of lodges from where you can explore this vast wetland in search of the elusive Jaguar.
