BEST TIME TO VISIT
In the Pantanal, Amazon Rainforest & Brazilian Savanna, every month is fascinating and different with beautiful sights to be found

Pantanal Wetlands
DEC-FEB
The sunny weather brings crystal-clear visibility, while the forest turns a deeper shade of green and the rivers begin to rise. Canoeing once again becomes possible through the bahias and narrow channels.
These months offer excellent opportunities to observe mammals within the forest, as wildlife becomes more active and accessible.
MAR-MAY
From March through May, the Pantanal reveals its most beautiful water scenery. Migratory birds from North America pass through the region, while the flora bursts into bloom, painting the landscape with the pink hues of heliconias, bromeliads, and orchids.
During this season, one of the world’s least-known waterbirds — the Least Bittern — is often spotted. The rivers reach their highest levels, and mammals that usually stay hidden along the banks can now be seen farther out in the open.
This period also brings some of the most breathtaking sunsets of the entire year, as the flooded plains reflect the colors of the sky.
JUNE-DEC
Generally, the best time to visit the Pantanal is between June 1 and December 31.
From late July to mid-August, enormous flocks of wading birds gather just south of Poconé, near the first bridges on the Transpantaneira Road — an unforgettable spectacle of color and sound.
Giant Otters are typically seen daily and at close range from early June through December, while Jabiru Storks begin nesting from July through early November.
The landscape bursts with color in midyear: the yellow-flowering Vochysia divergens brightens the wetlands in July, followed by the pink and yellow Tabebuia trees in August.
Based on our four years of field research, the prime months for jaguar sightings along the rivers are July through November — a truly exceptional season for wildlife photographers and nature lovers alike.

Amazon Rainforest
NOV-JAN
The pleasant sunny weather brings crystal-clear visibility, while the forest grows lush and vibrant, its understory adorned with ferns and philodendrons.
These months offer excellent opportunities to observe mammals within the forest, as wildlife becomes more active.
As the rivers begin to rise, canoeing through the flooded landscapes becomes an exciting and immersive experience.
FEB-MAR
The Amazonian flora bursts into bloom, displaying the brilliant red flowers of heliconias, bromeliads, and orchids.
The forest floor comes alive with brightly colored fungi, creating striking scenes for photography enthusiasts.
As the rivers reach their highest levels, mammals that usually stay close to the banks can now be seen deeper in the forest, offering unique wildlife-viewing opportunities.
APR-MAY
This period offers the most beautiful mornings of the year. A delicate veil of mist often lingers above the forest—just below the level of our 50-meter tower—slowly rising as the sun warms the canopy.
Sunsets are spectacular, especially when viewed from the Teles Pires River, the tower, or the Hilly Trails. Wildlife thrives during this time, with many bird and mammal species beginning their breeding season.
Colorful butterflies flutter through the forest and are frequently seen around the Saleiro Treehouse. As the river level gradually drops, conditions become perfect for canoeing through this serene landscape.
JUN-OCT
In this time, the nights are cooler with star-filled skies. It is a fine period for birding because the forest are drier and terrestrial species can be more easily detected. The Cristalino River reaches its lowest level with rocks and wild beaches exposed, attracting butterflies. Canoeing is a good activity during these months.

Brazilian Savanna
NOV-MAR
The wet season begins in the Cerrado, bringing occasional tropical storms that are typically brief and do not interfere with most activities.
During this time, countless seasonal waterfalls appear, transforming the landscape into a stunning backdrop for wildlife viewing — and a paradise for photography enthusiasts.
APR-MAY
This period offers the most beautiful mornings of the year. A delicate layer of mist drifts above the gallery forests, slowly rising as the sun warms the landscape. From the canyon viewpoints, sunsets are breathtaking, painting the sky in rich tones of gold and crimson.
It’s a time of abundance and activity — many species are breeding, making birds and mammals especially lively, while colorful butterflies flutter across sunlit trails. The wet season has just ended, and the rivers remain high, adding to the region’s serene and vibrant beauty.
JUN-OCT
During this time, nights are cooler and the skies sparkle with stars. It’s the best season for birdwatching, as most species are in their breeding period.
The Cerrado and gallery forests become drier, making terrestrial wildlife easier to spot, while the rivers drop to their lowest levels, drawing animals to the remaining water sources.
This is also the beginning of the flowering season. The landscape bursts with color as the yellow-flowering Vochysia divergens blooms in July, followed by the pink and yellow Tabebuia trees in August — a true natural spectacle.
